Principal’s MessageTom Ott

Dear Friends,

Welcome to the Technical Education Center Osceola!  I feel incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to work with the staffulty, students, families, and our business and community partners as TECO’s Principal.  I have had the opportunity to experience a number of the wonderful opportunities that Career and Technical Education provides for our students throughout my professional career.  I began my career as an educator by teaching what was then the Computers for College and Careers course at University High School in Orange County and experienced the power of CTE through students earning college credit through the tech prep assessment my course offered.  I eventually made my way to Orange Technical College as an Assistant Director before coming to TECO.  To round out my experience, I have also been a Dean and an Assistant Principal for both a middle and high school.

We use the word “staffulty” at TECO because of our belief that everyone who is part of our family is equally important in changing the lives of our students each and every day.  More than ever before, Career and Technical Education is gaining momentum in our ability to create career pathways for students that will lead them to gainful employment in high wage/high skill career while giving them opportunities for future educational opportunities.  At TECO, we have a commitment to quality, professionalism, and character as we Change lives Through Education.

TECO made great strides towards our ultimate goal of helping every student reach their potential in a new career.  We are excited to continue this momentum through the 2017-2018 school year which promises to be a historic year for our institution.  In January 2018, we will be opening four new programs across our three campuses.  You can look forward to a brand new Advanced Manufacturing program on our Kissimmee Campus, a Diesel Mechanic program on our St. Cloud Campus, and both the Computer Systems and Information Technology and Hotel and Resort Business Management program on our Poinciana Campus!  We hope that you take some time to explore all that TECO has to offer while visiting our website and that you ultimately click that “enroll now” button to become part of our family.

It is an exciting time to be involved with TECO and I invite you to stop by whenever you are near one of our campuses to see for yourself the great things that are happening here, to see how you can get involved with our school, or to just say hi.

Sincerely,

Tom Ott
