Medical Administrative Specialist

This program offers a broad foundation of knowledge and skills expanding the role of the medical secretary. The content includes the use of computer technology to develop communication skills, higher-level thinking skills and decision-making skills, the performance of office procedures specific to the medical office environment, medical terminology, transcription of medical documents from machine dictation, and the production of high-quality employment portfolios and job-seeking documents.  This program is competency based and it is eligible for articulated college credit.*

Program Mission

The mission of this program is to prepare the student with the necessary knowledge and skills to obtain employment in the healthcare industry in an entry level position.
