Drug and Alcohol Awareness

Drug and Alcohol Awareness

The Drug and Alcohol Awareness course was developed to help parents recognize danger signs that may indicate their child is at risk of alcohol or substance abuse. The program also helps parents identify risk and protective factors in their homes to increase the likelihood of preventing their child from abusing alcohol or other substances. The course contains interactive lessons, brainstorming sessions, current alcohol and substance abuse information, parenting tips on how to talk to your children about alcohol, drugs, and other topics and group discussions to help you build a stronger family.

Program Mission

Our mission is to aid parents in developing a better understanding of how they can help children avoid or stop substance abuse, using research based strategies such as building effective communication, setting limits and close family bonding.
