The patient care technician program is designed to expand on the traditional role of a nursing assistant. Hands on experiences in a laboratory, and clinical setting, provide students with the skills needed to assist patients with acute and long term care. This program also focuses on planning, management, finance, and other technical aspects of health care. This program is competency based.

Program Mission

The mission of this program is to prepare students for employment in positioins such as Health Care Technician, Patient Care Assistant, Nursing Aide, Orderly, Home Health Aide, and Allied Health Assistant.

Patient Care Technician - 60 hours
*Successful completion of an OCP may qualify a student for employment.
