The practical nursing program is designed to prepare graduates for employment as a Licensed Practical Nurse. The program is approved by the Florida State Board of Nursing, which provides the graduate eligibility to take the NCLEX-PN licensure exam. This program is eligible for articulated college credit.*

Program Mission

The mission of this program is to prepare students for employment as Licensed Practical Nurses. This training will empower the participant to develop health, safety and wellness consciousness.

Theoretical Instruction and Clinical Experience in Medical, Surgical,
Obstetrics, Pediatric and Geriatric Nursing
Family and Community Health Concepts
Nutrition, Human Growth and Development over the Life Span
Body Structure and Function
Interpersonal Relationship Skills
Mental Health Concepts
Legal Aspects of Practice
Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR


Industry Certifications and Licenses

NCLEX– PN
Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) Basic First Aid and CPR

Practical Nursing Foundations II - 300 hours

Comprehensive Nursing and Transitional Skills - 150 hours
*Successful completion of an OCP may qualify a student for employment.
